About the position

The Community Director (Non-Exempt) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a small multifamily property, typically with fewer than 300 units. This role involves managing a team of up to 5 full-time employees and ensuring that the property meets the operational and financial goals set by the client. The Community Director will enhance the property's value, maintain occupancy levels, and ensure compliance with various housing programs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the philosophies and wishes of the Owner in daily operations.
• Maintain positive communication with applicants, residents, vendors, clients, and guests.
• Develop and manage site team members, including hiring, training, and evaluation.
• Maintain occupancy levels as established by owner/budget expectations.
• Manage the maximum revenue potential of the property through lease expirations and timely turnover.
• Maintain appropriate resident files and ensure confidentiality.
• Ensure compliance with Risk Management items and report any injuries or property damage.
• Assist residents with maintenance needs and ensure timely completion of requests.
• Enforce community rules and regulations fairly and consistently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD, USDA-Rural Development, etc.).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership role within Residential Property Management.
• High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; college degree preferred.
• Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management software).

Nice-to-haves

• Affordable Housing Accreditation (e.g., HCCP, HCP-E, COS, BOS, TCS, CPO).
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
