About the position

The Affordable Housing Leasing Consultant serves as the sales representative for the community, responsible for engaging with potential and existing residents, conducting property tours, processing rental applications, securing lease agreements, and assisting with lease renewals. The role emphasizes compliance with Fair Housing Laws and company policies while striving to meet client expectations and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the philosophies and wishes of the Owner in daily operations to meet Client objectives.
  • Maintain positive and professional communication with applicants, residents, vendors, clients, and guests.
  • Maintain occupancy levels as established by owner/budget expectations.
  • Exhibit professional leasing techniques and assist with monthly Market Surveys and analysis.
  • Assist with advertising and marketing strategies for the apartment community.
  • Ensure all online marketing sources are updated daily.
  • Promote positive resident/management relations and assist with resident retention programs.
  • Ensure the safety, comfort, and privacy of all property residents.
  • Maintain appropriate resident files and ensure confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with Risk Management items and report any incidents timely.
  • Assist residents with maintenance needs and document facility concerns.
  • Enforce community rules and regulations consistently and fairly.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD programs, USDA-Rural Development, and HOME Funds.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in Residential Property Management.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; college degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record with current motor vehicle insurance.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, Google Apps, and property management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospitality, retail, sales, or customer service.
