About the position

The Affordable Housing Leasing Consultant serves as the sales representative for the community, responsible for engaging with potential and existing residents, conducting property tours, processing rental applications, securing lease agreements, and assisting with lease renewals. This role requires adherence to Fair Housing Laws and company policies while striving to meet client expectations and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with residents and potential residents to assist with property tours and provide accurate information about available apartments.
  • Process rental applications and secure lease agreements from qualified applicants.
  • Assist with lease renewals as required and maintain positive relationships with residents.
  • Conduct monthly market surveys and assist with advertising and marketing strategies for the community.
  • Maintain occupancy levels as established by owner and budget expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing Laws and company policies in all interactions and documentation.
  • Document and manage resident files, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of information.
  • Assist residents with maintenance requests and follow up to ensure timely completion.
  • Promote a professional image and adhere to the company's dress code policy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in Residential Property Management.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD programs, and USDA-Rural Development.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License and a good driving record with current motor vehicle insurance.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written, with strong computer skills including MS Office and property management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospitality, retail, sales, or customer service.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Google Drive and Gmail.
