About the position

The Affordable Housing Leasing Consultant serves as the sales representative for the community, responsible for engaging with potential and existing residents, conducting property tours, processing rental applications, securing lease agreements, and assisting with lease renewals. This role requires adherence to Fair Housing Laws and company policies while striving to meet client expectations and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

• Interact with residents and potential residents to assist with property tours and provide accurate information about apartments.
• Process rental applications and secure lease agreements from qualified individuals.
• Conduct move-in orientations for new residents and ensure their comfort and privacy.
• Maintain positive communication with applicants, residents, vendors, and clients.
• Assist in maintaining occupancy levels as per owner and budget expectations.
• Conduct monthly market surveys and assist with advertising and marketing strategies.
• Maintain resident files and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of documents.
• Report any injuries, illnesses, or property damage in a timely manner.
• Assist residents with maintenance requests and ensure timely completion of maintenance needs.
• Enforce community rules and regulations consistently and fairly.

Requirements

• Familiarity with affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD programs, and USDA-Rural Development.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in Residential Property Management.
• Experience in hospitality, retail, sales, or customer service is also considered.
• High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; college degree preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver's License and a good driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with property management-related software.
• Proficiency in Google Drive and Google Mail.
