About the position

The Affordable Housing Leasing Consultant serves as the sales representative for the community, responsible for engaging with potential and existing residents, conducting property tours, processing rental applications, securing lease agreements, and assisting with lease renewals. This role requires adherence to Fair Housing Laws and company policies while striving to meet client expectations and maintain occupancy levels.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with potential and existing residents to assist with property tours and provide accurate information about apartments.
  • Process rental applications and secure lease agreements from qualified individuals.
  • Conduct job duties in accordance with Fair Housing Laws and company policies.
  • Maintain positive communication with applicants, residents, vendors, clients, and guests.
  • Assist in maintaining occupancy levels as per owner and budget expectations.
  • Exhibit professional leasing techniques and assist with market surveys and advertising strategies.
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance requests and monitor the physical asset of the property.
  • Maintain resident files and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of documents.
  • Enforce community rules and regulations consistently and fairly.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD programs, and USDA-Rural Development.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in Residential Property Management.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License and a good driving record with current motor vehicle insurance.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and property management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospitality, retail, sales, or customer service.
  • College degree in a relatable field.
