About the position

The Affordable Housing Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of apartment homes, buildings, and grounds at Dover Woods Senior Apartments. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks including repairs, inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and client expectations. The technician will also be on-call for emergency services and will assist in unit turnover to prepare apartments for new residents.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the philosophies and wishes of the Owner in daily operations to meet client objectives.
• Adhere to the assigned maintenance program for the property's upkeep.
• Serve as on-call maintenance for evening, weekend, and holiday emergencies.
• Perform maintenance inspections and repairs on vacant apartments.
• Repair and maintain equipment owned by the apartment community.
• Prepare properties for regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with standards.
• Enforce community rules and regulations and comply with Fair Housing Laws.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in Residential Property Management.
• High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; technical school and/or CAMT certification preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
• Basic computer skills (email, internet, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, or construction.
• Knowledge of NSPIRE, MOR, TCAC, and CALFHA compliance standards.
• Ability to collaborate with city officials and financial institutions.
