About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Northpointe Park Apartments is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of apartment homes, buildings, and grounds. This role involves performing a variety of tasks including repairs, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The technician will also support the overall objective of meeting client expectations while adhering to the operating capital budget and management agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the philosophies and wishes of the Owner in the daily overall operations of the apartment community.
  • Adhere to the assigned maintenance program to ensure the most economical, proper and safe condition of the property.
  • Serve as on-call maintenance providing evening, weekends and holiday emergency services.
  • Perform maintenance inspections and repairs on vacant apartments to ensure proper operating conditions and appearance upon move-in.
  • Repair and maintain any equipment owned by the apartment community including proper storage in a secure location.
  • Proficiently prepare properties and ensure compliance for potential regulatory inspections.
  • Consistently and fairly enforce community rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably within Residential Property Management.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; technical school and/or CAMT certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License, a good driving record, current motor vehicle insurance which meets State requirements, and an operable vehicle that meets FPI's Driving Standards and Personal Vehicle Use policy.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and comply with FPI's facial hair policy.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Basic computer skills (email, internet, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, or construction.
  • Knowledgeable in TCAC compliance, ensuring that affordable housing projects meet the necessary tax credit allocation standards.
  • Skilled in conducting inspections in accordance with CALFHA requirements.
