About the position

The Affordable Housing Property Manager at MMS Group is responsible for the overall operational and financial success of residential properties. This role involves managing property operations, ensuring resident satisfaction, and developing team members for personal and professional growth. The Property Manager will oversee daily operations, budget management, and staff management while maintaining high standards of property maintenance and resident relations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the property.
  • Collect rent and other property fees from residents promptly.
  • Address resident concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Partner with the maintenance team for preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Prepare and follow an operating budget, planning for community capital improvements and repairs.
  • Handle all accounting functions associated with the property, including processing invoices and managing evictions.
  • Hire, train, and supervise site staff to ensure high performance.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to maintain standards.
  • Complete income verification to ensure eligibility with government regulations.
  • Perform other duties as outlined in the job description.

Requirements

  • Three+ years of residential multifamily property management or real estate management experience as a Property Manager.
  • Minimum two years of affordable housing experience.
  • Associate degree in Marketing and/or Business, preferred.
  • Experience with project-based Section 8, LIHTC, and other affordable housing programs.
  • LIHTC Certification, preferred.
  • Experience with RealPage OneSite or similar property management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
