About the position

The Affordable Housing Property Manager will oversee the operational and financial success of a 260-unit garden-style residential property in Huntington Station, NY. This role involves managing property operations, ensuring resident satisfaction, and leading a team to maintain high standards of service and compliance with affordable housing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the property.
• Collect rent and other property fees from residents promptly.
• Address resident concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Partner with the maintenance team for preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
• Prepare and follow an operating budget in collaboration with the Regional Manager and corporate office.
• Handle all accounting functions associated with the property, including processing invoices and managing evictions.
• Hire, train, and supervise site staff to ensure high performance.
• Conduct regular property inspections to maintain standards.
• Complete income verification to ensure eligibility with government regulations.
• Perform other duties as outlined in the job description.

Requirements

• Three+ years of residential multifamily property management or real estate management experience as a Property Manager.
• Minimum two years of affordable housing experience.
• Associate degree in Marketing and/or Business, preferred.
• Experience with project-based Section 8 and other affordable housing programs.
• Experience in Section 8 voucher submission and tax-credit.
• Proficiency in RealPage OneSite or similar property management software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
