About the position

C+C Apartment Management LLC is recognized as an industry leader in management and real estate operations. Our team manages the day-to-day operations of over 23,000 residential dwelling units across approximately 400 multi-family buildings throughout the New York Tri-state area. The C+C portfolio contains market rate, mixed market rate, affordable and full tax credit/affordable properties. C+C offers a full breadth of management services to improve and enhance a property's revenue, cost control measures, maintenance, financial reporting, and resident relations. As an Affordable Leasing Coordinator, you will facilitate all aspects of the apartment leasing process, qualifying prospective residents and ensuring compliance with applicable subsidies. This role requires outstanding service to prospective residents, current residents, and third-party agencies. You will be responsible for ensuring that the documentation adheres to the HPD/HDC Marketing Handbook and LIHTC guidelines, following up with prospects and leads to increase occupancy, and collecting eligibility documentation to determine applicant eligibility based on income restrictions. Your duties will also include performing credit and criminal background screenings, requesting and reviewing initial verifications of applicants' income, assets, and housing from applicants and third parties, assembling tenant files for processing, and maintaining audit-ready documentation. You will prepare leases, coordinate with households for signatures, and present daily residential reports. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office being essential.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates all aspects of the apartment leasing process, qualifying prospective residents and ensuring compliance with applicable subsidies.
  • Provides outstanding service to prospective residents, current residents, and third-party agencies.
  • Follows up with prospects and leads to increase occupancy.
  • Collects eligibility documentation and determines eligibility of applicants based on income restriction process.
  • Performs credit/criminal background screening.
  • Requests and reviews initial verifications of applicants' income/assets/housing from applicants and third parties.
  • Assembles tenant files, submits to accounting for processing, and maintains audit-ready documentation.
  • Completes subsidy packages (Section 8, HRA, FHEPS, etc.).
  • Schedules households for unit viewing and communicates with property management to ensure successful key pickup.
  • Prepares leases and coordinates with households for signature.
  • Prepares and presents daily residential reports.
  • Performs administrative tasks and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • 1+ years' experience in customer service, banking, real estate, or housing social service case management background preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

  • Experience with Section 8 housing programs.
