About the position

The After School Activities Teacher is responsible for planning and facilitating engaging after school activity sessions for students. This part-time, in-person role requires effective communication with the Director of Educational Development and the ability to work with a diverse student population. The teacher will model appropriate behaviors and support students in their academic and social development.

Responsibilities

• Report to the school building on time and prepared.
• Meet regularly with the Director of Educational Development.
• Plan and facilitate group after school activity sessions consisting of games, activities, and interest-based discussions.
• Maintain consistent communication with the Director of Educational Development.
• Model appropriate academic and social behaviors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work with students of diverse ethnic backgrounds, academic profiles, and skill levels.
• Possess good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate responsibility, a desire to help others, discretion, and flexibility.
• Knowledge of academic content and skills.
• Ability to apply knowledge and tools to help students access material.
• Ability to collect and analyze data to drive future instruction.
• Ability to work independently applying critical thinking skills and problem solving.

Nice-to-haves

• Extensive teaching, tutoring, and/or camp counselor experience.
