About the position

The After School Chess Instructor will be responsible for teaching chess to students in grades K-6, fostering a love for the game and enhancing their skills. This part-time position offers flexible hours, making it ideal for individuals seeking supplemental income while engaging with young learners in a fun and educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach chess to students in grades K-6.
• Prepare for classes by setting up materials and ensuring a conducive learning environment.
• Engage students with interactive lessons and activities related to chess.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to enhance their skills.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding class activities and student development.

Requirements

• Strong chess knowledge, including terms like Castling, Pin, Fork, Skewer, En Passant, Stalemate, and Checkmate.
• Passion for teaching and working with children.
• Reliable transportation and cellphone.
• Ability to pass a TB test and background check upon hiring.
• Availability between 12am and 5pm on weekdays.

Nice-to-haves
