After School Childcare Teacher

About the position

The After School Childcare Teacher at Lemon Tree Academy is responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for children in the after school program. This part-time role focuses on implementing age-appropriate activities that foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children. The teacher will engage with students during playtime and mealtime, maintain communication with parents, and ensure a clean and organized daycare environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement age-appropriate activities for children in the after school program.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
• Supervise and engage with children during playtime and mealtime.
• Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through interactive activities.
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
• Ensure the daycare is clean, organized, and meets all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in babysitting, early childhood education, or related field.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline.
• Experience working with students with special needs or behavioral challenges is a plus.
• First aid certification is preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to follow engaging and educational lesson plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and understanding towards children's needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with students with special needs or behavioral challenges is a plus.
• First aid certification is preferred.
