About the position

The Program Manager is responsible for leading an after-school program at a high school, focusing on providing academic, enrichment, and recreational activities for students. This operational role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to meet specific annual goals and ensure student success.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise 6-10 staff members in the after-school program.
  • Administer academic, enrichment, and recreation programs for high school students.
  • Develop student enrichment programs including sports, arts, and STEM activities.
  • Coordinate student programs such as choir, drama, and leadership.
  • Provide leadership, training, and direction to staff.
  • Communicate regularly with the principal, teachers, and families.
  • Build collaborative partnerships to enhance program offerings.
  • Manage programs to meet enrollment, retention, and family satisfaction goals.
  • Follow protocols for high-risk employee/student issues.
  • Submit reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Ensure compliance with all Center and school district policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Implement Human Resources policies consistently and fairly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred but not required).
  • One year of youth development experience or management experience in an organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success working with local communities.

  • Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Lao, and English.
