About the position

The After-School Program Site Coordinator at Peninsula Bridge is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the after-school program for elementary and middle school students. This role involves administrative leadership, case management, and collaboration with a team of educators to ensure a safe and engaging environment for students. The coordinator will work closely with families and staff to support student success and foster a sense of community.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the program site and Peninsula Bridge, including meetings and ongoing coordination.
  • Oversee daily program logistics including setup, schedule, staffing, and student attendance.
  • Prioritize student health and safety, including caring for sick or injured students and communicating with parents.
  • Disseminate program logistic information to the site team in a clear and timely manner.
  • Liaise with transportation dispatch and bus drivers regarding daily transportation.
  • Ensure a positive site culture through proactive practices and activities.
  • Monitor and analyze student progress and engagement using various data sources.
  • Lead student advising and family support meetings, including 1:1 check-ins and problem-solving meetings.
  • Manage communications with families regarding logistics and student-specific issues.
  • Lead family programming including orientations and open houses.
  • Maintain student data documentation and ensure compliance with attendance and grade documentation.
  • Lead monthly site debriefs and support high school volunteer TAs.
  • Coordinate with Development and Director's team on tours and special events.
  • Attend Site Coordinator meetings and participate in team initiatives.

Requirements

  • Successful experience working with 4th-8th grade students in academic and social settings.
  • Leadership experience in a youth development or school-based setting.
  • Effective at building a strong sense of community and maintaining positive rapport.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and caring demeanor.
  • Creative, adaptable, and able to manage multiple objectives simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including colleagues, families, and volunteers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective student management skills.
  • Ability to support students and families in a warm, engaging way.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and understanding of youth development.
  • Effective organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in Spanish is desired but not required.
  • Ability to operate PC including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to provide on-site technology support using Google Chromebooks.
  • Full Covid-19 vaccination required.
