About the position
The After School Science Teacher position at Mad Science of WI IL & MI involves conducting engaging and interactive science programs for children in the Milwaukee area. The role is part-time and does not require certification or a science major, making it accessible for individuals with a passion for teaching and working with kids. The position emphasizes a fun and dynamic approach to learning, with a focus on hands-on science activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on science classes for elementary school students.
- Engage children in interactive and inquiry-based learning activities.
- Travel to various schools in the Milwaukee/Racine/Waukesha/Ozaukee area to deliver programs.
- Set up and clean up after each class session.
- Follow the provided curriculum and adapt it to the needs of the students.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a classroom or camp setting (1 year preferred).
- A dynamic and child-friendly personality.
- Reliability and responsibility in managing class schedules.
- Availability at least 2 days per week between 2:30pm and 5:30pm.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience.
- A background in science or education (not required but preferred).
