About the position
The After School STEM Instructor role at Mad Science of WI IL & MI involves teaching engaging science workshops to children from Pre-K to 6th grade. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule, allowing instructors to work between 1 to 5 days a week, primarily in the afternoons and on weekends. Instructors will lead interactive science lessons, utilizing provided supplies and curriculum, while also enjoying a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive to various locations such as schools, daycares, or parks to conduct science workshops.
- Lead one-hour interactive science lessons for children, ensuring an engaging learning experience.
- Participate in paid training to become comfortable with the curriculum and teaching methods.
- Work collaboratively with a team to enhance the learning experience for students and their families.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- A passion for teaching and working with children.
- Flexibility and creativity in teaching methods.
- Regular access to a car for transportation to teaching locations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching or working with children in a STEM-related field.
