About the position

The After School Substitute Teacher position is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with students in a creative and supportive environment. The role involves implementing the after school program, assessing student progress, and collaborating with the school's leadership team. The teacher will supervise students, provide emotional support, and organize various recreational activities, all while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• On-campus supervision of day-to-day aspects of the program
• Homework mentoring possible
• Communicate with team members and parents about student's progress and behavior
• Supervising children, providing emotional support and ensuring their safety
• Organizing and implementing arts & crafts, sports or science projects
• Organizing other recreational activities
• Respond in a timely fashion to all inquiries regarding the program
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 1+ years of professional experience in recreational school programs or homework mentoring
• Open-mindedness, organizational skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for improvisation
• Experience and competence in advising, communicating and working effectively with parents
• Demonstrated competency with basic word processing and internet functions
• Ability to ascertain which people may need immediate assistance and to act accordingly
• Valid US work permit required

Nice-to-haves
