About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate After School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students. This role involves not only educating students but also supporting their emotional and social development. The After School Teacher will work collaboratively with other educators and staff to implement effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote student engagement.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment for all students.
• Provide individualized support to students with special education needs or behavioral challenges.
• Utilize knowledge of childhood development to create age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
• Organize and supervise educational camps, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
• Administer first aid when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices in teaching and classroom management.

Requirements

• Early Childhood Education units
• Experience in childcare or babysitting is advantageous.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and special education practices.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles.
• Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• First aid certification is a plus but not required.
