About the position
The After School Volleyball Coach position at Euro School of Tennis involves teaching volleyball to elementary school children in grades K-3 across various schools in the Bay Area. This part-time role requires managing classes, creating a positive learning environment, and engaging with students and parents. Coaches will work flexible hours, primarily after school, and are expected to transport equipment and handle administrative tasks related to class management.
Responsibilities
- Manage a class size of 8 - 16 students aged 5-10 years old.
- Teach volleyball classes using provided lesson plans.
- Attend a two-day training/shadowing session to familiarize with the program.
- Transport sports equipment to and from class and set up necessary equipment.
- Take attendance, sign in, and sign out students for each class.
- Interact with parents and school office staff as necessary.
- Provide feedback for each student by the end of the session.
- Capture pictures of kids in action during sessions.
Requirements
- Must be 19+ years old upon application submission.
- Previous teaching or playing experience in volleyball is preferred but not required.
- Enjoy working with kids and possess effective classroom management skills.
- Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilient, positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and within a small team.
- Must have own car and valid driver's license to use at work.
- Willingness to undergo a live scan background check and TB test before working.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
