About the position

The After School Volleyball Coach position at Calex Sports Inc. is a part-time role focused on teaching volleyball to elementary school children in grades K-3 across various schools in the Bay Area. The coach will manage classes, create a positive learning environment, and engage with students and parents. This role requires flexibility and a passion for working with children.

Responsibilities

• Manage a class size of 8 - 16 students aged 5-10 years old.
• Teach volleyball classes using provided lesson plans.
• Attend a two-day training/shadowing session to familiarize with the program.
• Transport sports equipment to and from class and set up necessary equipment.
• Take attendance, sign in, and sign out students for each class.
• Interact with parents and school office staff as necessary.
• Provide feedback for each student by the end of the session.
• Capture pictures of kids in action during sessions.

Requirements

• Must be 19+ years old upon application submission.
• Enjoy working with kids and possess effective classroom management skills.
• Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilient, positive attitude.
• Must have the ability to work independently and within a small team.
• Must have own car and valid driver's license to use at work.
• Willingness to undergo a live scan background check and TB test before working.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous teaching or playing experience in volleyball is preferred but not required.
