About the position

The After School Yoga Instructor position at Calex Sports Inc. involves teaching yoga classes to elementary school children in grades K-3 across various schools in the Bay Area. This part-time role requires managing small class sizes, creating a positive learning environment, and engaging with students and parents. The instructor will work flexible hours, primarily on weekdays, and will be responsible for class management, administrative tasks, and documentation of student progress.

Responsibilities

• Manage a class size of 8 - 16 students aged 5-10 years old.
• Teach yoga classes using provided lesson plans.
• Attend a two-day training/shadowing session to familiarize with the program.
• Transport sports equipment to and from class and set up necessary equipment.
• Take attendance, sign in, and sign out students for each class.
• Interact with parents and school office staff as necessary.
• Provide feedback for each student by the end of the session.
• Capture pictures of kids in action during sessions.

Requirements

• Must be 19+ years old upon application submission.
• Previous teaching or playing experience in yoga is preferred but not required.
• Enjoy working with kids and possess effective classroom management skills.
• Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilient, positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and within a small team.
• Must have own car and valid driver's license to use at work.
• Willingness to undergo a live scan background check and TB test before working.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
