About the position

The Aftermarket Sales Territory Manager role at SKF is a pivotal position responsible for driving consistent and sustainable sales growth across the regions of Utah, Nevada, Southern Idaho, and Southwest Wyoming. This role is designed for a seasoned sales professional who will engage with SKF Authorized Distributors, Channel Partners, and End Users, focusing on deepening and expanding customer relationships. The Aftermarket Sales Territory Manager will report directly to the Regional Sales Director and will be the primary contact for distributors and end-users within the defined sales area. The position requires a strong technical sales approach, ensuring that SKF's products and services are effectively communicated and delivered to meet customer needs. In this role, the Aftermarket Sales Territory Manager will be accountable for both the retention of existing business and the development of new opportunities. This includes executing a flawless customer experience and leveraging SKF's organizational resources to support aftermarket business initiatives. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver year-over-year sustainable profit growth, actively manage daily engagements with key stakeholders, and drive sales growth through product expansion and relationship building. The role also involves providing strong technical support to distributor and end-user accounts, ensuring that customers view SKF as a trusted advisor in achieving their key performance indicators (KPIs). The Aftermarket Sales Territory Manager will utilize a consultative and collaborative approach to understand customer requirements, assess equipment needs, and recommend improved materials or machinery that emphasize cost savings or increased production. This position requires a proactive mindset, with responsibilities including application reviews for new opportunities, troubleshooting existing applications, and assessing competitive share-shift opportunities. The role demands effective business management practices, including documenting sales opportunities in the sales funnel and executing cross-functional go-to-market strategies with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistent year-over-year sustainable profit growth within the assigned portfolio of business.
  • Engage SKF Authorized Distributors, Channel Partners, and end-users to drive sales growth through product expansion and relationship building.
  • Build, deepen, and sustain customer relationships to enhance business growth.
  • Consult with customers to understand their requirements and assess equipment needs.
  • Provide strong technical support to distributor and end-user accounts, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Perform application reviews for new opportunities and recommend optimal SKF solutions.
  • Troubleshoot existing applications and define upgrade options based on visual analysis.
  • Document sales opportunities in the sales funnel that align with SKF's strategies.
  • Develop and execute cross-functional go-to-market strategies with stakeholders.
  • Manage end customers with an opportunity-based sales plan to protect existing businesses and drive growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong commercial and technical/mechanical aptitude.
  • General industry knowledge with the ability to communicate technical details effectively.
  • Ability to answer technical questions utilizing published information catalogs for bearings, seals, and maintenance products.
  • Knowledge of lubrication methods and practices, including assessments and recommendations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot applications and articulate advanced problems to Application Engineers as needed.
  • Strong situational awareness and adeptness at managing complex organizations and situations.
  • Proficient knowledge in sales plan development/execution and funnel management.
