About the position

Little Wonders Childcare & Learning Center is seeking a dependable part-time Childcare Assistant/Floater to support teachers in creating a nurturing and safe environment for children. The role involves engaging with children in various activities, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the well-being of children both indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in planning and implementing daily indoor and outdoor activities
• Help create nurturing, safe and healthy environments for children
• Assist with cleaning duties as needed during and at the end of the day
• Diapering and toilet training as needed
• Engage with children in activities and learning
• Supervise and monitor children to ensure safety and well-being both indoor and outdoors
• Assist children with daily routines
• Communicate with parents as needed
• Maintain cleanliness in classroom and outdoor areas
• Maintain records and paperwork as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in child care or related field
• Must be available Monday - Friday until closing
• Effective communication skills to interact with children, parents and staff
• Understanding of child development and familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines
• Ability to handle the physical demands of working with young children including lifting, bending and kneeling
