About the position

The Industrial Engineer (Project) at EssilorLuxottica is responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations within the North American Logistics Engineering department. This role involves project management, process improvement, and collaboration across various teams to ensure optimal warehousing and distribution practices. The engineer will lead initiatives aimed at improving safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction while managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leads lean distribution initiatives to improve safety, reduce cycle times, improve productivity, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Conducts root cause analysis investigations and recommends corrective and preventative actions.
  • Performs process capability analysis and implements process control procedures.
  • Monitors and controls production processes to ensure compliance with specified requirements.
  • Supports training of operations personnel.
  • Works cross-functionally with North America Planning and Logistics to synchronize customer needs.
  • Leads key projects in a Project Management role with cross-functional teams.
  • Develops engineered standards and implements staffing plans through change management.
  • Creates facility layouts and coordinates resources for project execution.
  • Ensures all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial) or equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • 3+ years of Engineering experience in a distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Proven experience in project management.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in process development and solving production problems.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, MS Project, or equivalent.
  • Experience with AutoCAD for designing and implementing warehouse layouts.
  • Familiarity with WMS/LMS and conducting engineered standards.
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills, problem-solving, and data analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in logistics engineering or related fields.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management concepts.
