About the position

The AG Advisor at Frontier Cooperative is responsible for leveraging agronomic expertise to develop and execute tailored farm strategies for customers. The role focuses on fostering long-term partnerships with growers, guiding them through the vision creation process, and maximizing productivity and profitability through effective planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Finalize sale of the whole farm philosophy, including products and services.
  • Maintain emotional stability during challenges in planning and execution stages.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Coordinate services and resources with other AG Advisors and Location Managers.
  • Analyze past product performance and develop producer's Farm plan.
  • Make recommendations on seed types, crop rotations, and fertilizer treatments.
  • Implement prepayment plans for seeds, fertilizers, and chemicals.
  • Plan logistics for product delivery and application.
  • Promote and support cooperative business and marketing plans.
  • Grow and maintain agronomy customer base and field presence.
  • Analyze and resolve customer service problems with quality follow-up.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops and seminars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related field required.
  • Minimum of three years in agronomy and/or agronomy sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of agronomy retail products and services.
  • Proficiency with computers and agronomy software programs.
  • Understanding of soil fertility, fertilizer and chemical properties, and crop maintenance methods.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, or electronic instructions.
  • Ability to write reports and Farm Plans.
  • Basic math skills including algebra and geometry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales within the agriculture sector.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.
