About the position

The Ag Inventory Manager at RDO Equipment Co. will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of agriculture inventory planning, ordering, and logistical strategy. This position requires a proactive approach to coordinate activities across various departments within the dealerships in the region, ensuring that both customer and employee needs are met effectively. The individual will be responsible for maintaining a profitable agricultural product line, which involves monitoring early order programs (EOP), managing allocations, and developing reordering strategies based on sales forecasts and market trends. In this role, the Ag Inventory Manager will facilitate monthly inventory calls with regional teams to strategize on the agricultural side of the business. A strong product knowledge is essential, as the manager will need to advise field management on inventory decisions regarding equipment models. The position also requires a keen understanding of market share dynamics, working closely with management to achieve set goals. Additionally, the manager will track aged and under-utilized machines, providing recommendations for marketing aged inventory effectively. Customer service is a key component of this role, with expectations to provide excellent follow-up and maintain a professional image of RDO Equipment Co. The Ag Inventory Manager will adhere to all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and will be expected to conduct themselves professionally in the presence of customers and the community. Continuous professional development is encouraged through participation in company-sponsored training and communication efforts, including open book meetings and departmental huddles. The manager will also maintain positive working relationships with peers and management, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of agriculture inventory planning, ordering, and logistical strategy.
  • Coordinate activities with all other departments of the dealerships to serve customer and employee needs.
  • Monitor early order programs (EOP), allocations, and reordering strategy based on sales forecasts and trends.
  • Facilitate monthly inventory calls with regions to strategize on the agriculture side of the business.
  • Possess strong product knowledge and advise field management on inventory decisions.
  • Track aged and under-utilized machines and advise on marketing plans for aged inventory.
  • Provide excellent customer service and follow-up.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
  • Conduct oneself professionally in the presence of customers and the community.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory/management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales or rental management or related experience.
  • Excellent understanding of the retail and rental market.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • College degree or applicable experience preferred.
