About the position

The Agency Budget Analyst at Energy Northwest is responsible for providing business planning and risk support to management groups, focusing on financial and business issues. The role requires a high level of independence in responding to budgetary challenges and proactively addressing business needs. Key responsibilities include budget development, financial reporting, cost performance analysis, and project controls, ensuring effective financial management and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, track, and execute corporate budget development and budget change management.
  • Monitor organizational cost performance against budget by analyzing variances and cost trends, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Provide monthly financial summaries to supported managers and projects.
  • Assist project managers and engineers with Capital and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) project controls and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) information.
  • Recommend corrective actions to recover cost and schedule to established baselines.
  • Maintain and monitor the Columbia Station Long-range Plan (LRP) for Capital and Expense projects.
  • Identify key risks related to financial activities and ensure compensating internal controls are in place.
  • Conduct special assignments and benchmarking studies for business-related issues.
  • Participate on the Emergency Response team and support biennial refueling outages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 7 years of industrial level experience in financial/accounting/budgeting/risk positions, preferably within a large company or profit center.
  • OR an AA degree and 9 years of industrial level experience in financial/accounting/budgeting/risk positions.
  • OR a High school diploma or GED and 11 years of industrial level experience in financial/accounting/budgeting/risk positions.
