About the position

The Agency Driver position at The Community Place of Greater Rochester, Inc. is a part-time role responsible for the safe and timely transportation of consumers registered in agency programs. The driver will operate agency vehicles, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations and maintaining the vehicle's condition. This role requires interaction with diverse individuals and may involve working evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a driver for the agency, including pick-ups, deliveries, and transportation of clients.
• Conduct transportation duties safely, complying with NYS traffic regulations, especially regarding seat belt use and passenger safety.
• Maintain agency vehicle(s) by regularly checking tires, battery, oil fluid levels, and ensuring service check-ups are performed.
• Keep the vehicle's interior and exterior clean and well-maintained.
• Pick up and drop off consumers at scheduled locations, adhering to strict time schedules.
• Read maps and GPS to follow geographic directions accurately.
• Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
• Notify supervisors of any accidents or incidents and report mechanical problems to the IDD Director.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid NYS driver's license with an excellent driving record.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid is highly desired.
• Familiarity with the city of Rochester's geographical and street locations.
