About the position

Insperity is seeking an Agency Temp Associate Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist to join our Payroll Tax Compliance team. This role is pivotal in assisting with the execution of payroll tax payments and reporting, providing essential administrative support, ongoing customer service, and data entry. The successful candidate will work closely with Payroll Tax Compliance leadership, focusing on areas such as Withholding, State Unemployment, and Paid Family Leave. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can prepare check requests for tax-related refunds, calculate taxes due on pre-tax deduction refunds, and ensure accurate bank and general ledger coding of payments to tax authorities, clients, and employee reimbursements. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Specialist will assist with various administrative tasks, including processing tax notices and mail, responding to client payroll tax inquiries escalated to the compliance team, and preparing data for employee payroll tax updates in the payroll tax system. The role also involves providing documentation to clients to facilitate their use of Insperity's services, as well as assisting with the filing of paperwork related to state and local income tax deposits and returns. The Specialist will support Finance leadership on various initiatives as needed, contributing to the overall accomplishment of Insperity's company goals. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of payroll tax payments and reporting.
  • Provide administrative support to the Payroll Tax Compliance leadership.
  • Prepare check requests for tax-related refunds and calculate taxes due on pre-tax deduction refunds.
  • Ensure accurate bank and general ledger coding of payments to tax authorities, clients, and employee reimbursements.
  • Assist with a variety of administrative tasks, including tax notices and mail processing.
  • Respond to client payroll tax questions escalated to the compliance team via SalesForce.
  • Prepare and enter data for employee payroll tax updates in the payroll tax system.
  • Provide documentation to assist clients in preparing to utilize Insperity's services.
  • Assist with filing paperwork associated with state and local income tax deposits and returns.
  • Support Finance leadership on various efforts as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting is preferred.
  • One to three years of payroll experience is preferred.
  • Basic understanding and entry-level payroll knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel with a willingness to increase knowledge through training.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with modern office methods, practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to maintain and monitor employee records with accuracy and detail under time constraints.
  • Ability to solve problems following established company policy guidelines.
