About the position

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) is seeking two full-time Agents I or II to conduct investigations related to the enforcement of state laws and regulations concerning medical marijuana. This role involves both entry-level and career-level responsibilities, including conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and collaborating with law enforcement entities. Candidates must demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates violations of state laws and regulations concerning medical marijuana.
  • Participates in undercover operations and surveillance of individuals and entities involved in medical marijuana activities.
  • Gathers and analyzes information; searches for and gathers physical or documentary evidence.
  • Interviews witnesses and obtains signed statements and affidavits.
  • Prepares investigative reports and case records; presents findings in clear, logical, and properly documented reports.
  • Assists prosecutors and the OMMA Legal Division in filing charges; appears as a witness in court proceedings.
  • Drafts and serves legal documents for criminal and administrative investigations.
  • Examines physical security safeguards and accounting procedures of registered entities.
  • Participates in in-service training and studies professional materials relating to investigative procedures.
  • Operates and monitors electronic surveillance equipment; operates computers and software.
  • Accompanies OMMA inspectors during their assigned duties.
  • Responds to program-related inquiries from the general public.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of law enforcement experience with a governmental law enforcement agency.
  • Must be a certified CLEET peace officer or possess a certification by reciprocity agreement from another state.
  • For Level II, one additional year of professional experience in conducting criminal investigations is required.
