About the position

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) is seeking a full-time Agent II to perform a full range of investigative duties related to the enforcement of laws and regulations concerning medical marijuana. This role involves conducting investigations, participating in undercover operations, and collaborating with law enforcement entities to ensure compliance with state laws. The position requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates violations of state laws and regulations concerning medical marijuana.
  • Participates in undercover operations and surveillance of individuals and entities involved in the medical marijuana industry.
  • Gathers and analyzes information, searches for and gathers physical or documentary evidence, and interviews witnesses.
  • Prepares investigative reports and case records, presenting findings in clear and logical reports.
  • Assists prosecutors and the OMMA Legal Division in filing charges and appears as a witness in court proceedings.
  • Drafts and serves legal documents for criminal and administrative investigations, including subpoenas and warrants.
  • Examines physical security safeguards and accounting procedures of registered medical marijuana entities.
  • Participates in in-service training and studies new investigative procedures and legal materials.
  • Operates and monitors electronic surveillance equipment and computer software.
  • Accompanies OMMA inspectors during their assigned duties and provides courtroom security for administrative hearings.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of law enforcement experience with a governmental law enforcement agency.
  • Certified CLEET peace officer or possess a certification by reciprocity agreement from another state.
  • One year of professional experience in conducting criminal investigations for a governmental law enforcement agency.

  • Two years' experience conducting criminal investigations.
