About the position

The Aggregate Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete operations of several regional aggregate mine sites. This role involves ensuring safety, environmental compliance, cost control, and production efficiency while managing a team of managers and maintaining relationships with various departments and the local community.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safety, environmental matters, cost control, production and maintenance for assigned aggregate operations
  • Responsible for mine planning and mining process
  • Create, develop, manage and present production metrics
  • Document production statistics and produce reports as required
  • Supervise production operations; manage team
  • Lead, manage, and develop other managers, Facility managers, QC managers, Transportation managers etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining all plant equipment
  • Communicate and participate with local community as required
  • Participate in the capital and operating budget processes
  • Maintain working relationships with all departments to ensure work objectives can be met
  • Develop plans to work towards improved performance and lower operating costs
  • Participate on the safety committee

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience running an aggregate site
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of surveying
  • Project management experience
  • Commitment to safety
  • Strong computer skills - presentations and reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with waterborne transportation an asset
