About the position
The Agile Coach will lead and guide multiple Scrum teams in their Agile/Scrum journey, focusing on coaching and mentoring project teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, stakeholders, and organizational leaders to achieve overall transformation to agility.
Responsibilities
- Partners with other Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters across the organization
- Trains new Development teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners in Agile values, principles, practices and Scrum framework
- Responsible for the growth of new and existing Scrum Masters
- Mentors and guides multiple teams on a day-to-day basis
- Helps identify organizational impediments to successful Agile transformation and works with the leadership team to create effective strategies to overcome them
- Organizes workshops that help promote Agile maturity across the organization
- Communicates well with teams and leaders of the organization, good listening skills, asking questions and giving feedback
- Ensures Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, being a voice of reason and authority
- Enthusiastic and maintains a positive, high-energy attitude
- Continually grows his/her craft learning new tools and techniques
- Able to handle conflict resolution well, facilitating discussion and alternatives of different approaches
- Works with teams to achieve self-organization team accountability
- Works with teams on how to identify and burn down technical debt
- Brings disclosure and transparency to the business and grows business trust
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience as an Agile Coach for software development teams
- Experience in code refactoring, simple design principles and continuous integration
- Experience in training, coaching and mentoring new Agile/Scrum teams
- Experience in creating Agile training/workshop material
- Experience working with large, small, remote and collocated Scrum teams
- In-depth understanding of Agile values, principles and the Scrum framework
- Understand fundamentals of iterative & incremental development
- Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise
- Experience with JIRA/GreenHopper (i.e. Jira Agile) is a plus
