About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer role at Lockheed Martin focuses on High Performance Computing (HPC) within the Enterprise Business Digital Transformation (EBDT) Classified IT Transformation organization. This position is pivotal in revolutionizing IT delivery for classified programs, enhancing infrastructure, and supporting the mission of the US Department of Defense. The engineer will engage with cutting-edge technology, manage numerous servers, and drive continuous improvement in HPC environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, developers, and scientists to deliver innovative capabilities and ensure seamless integration with workflows.
  • Build and support HPC and Kubernetes environments using DevSecOps-focused architecture.
  • Partner with development teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines and leverage available infrastructure.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles in scripting and programming tasks.
  • Deploy applications using various container runtimes and Kubernetes distributions.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (US Citizenship) and customer acceptance.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and version control such as Git.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+, or other IAT Level II/III security certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced environment with effective stakeholder relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance with background investigation within 6 years.
  • Security+, CISSP, or other IAT Level II/III security certification.
  • Experience with GitHub, GitLab, Jira, or other Agile project management tools.
  • Scripting ability with Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or Helm.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, RKE2, Singularity/Apptainer).
  • Experience with virtualization such as VMWare.
  • Technical documentation creation and management.
  • Understanding of routing/switching networking concepts and cybersecurity best practices.
