About the position

DigiFlight, Inc. is seeking an Agile/DevSecOps Specialist to support an agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology for a nationally significant program. The Agile/DevSecOps Specialist will possess a strong knowledge of SAFe best practices and tools for tracking and managing product development. This role is pivotal in leading the technical implementation and maintenance of automation infrastructure, aimed at enhancing collaboration and productivity within software development teams. The specialist will be responsible for providing a robust CI/CD pipeline that ensures code quality and security while enabling continuous deployment. The primary responsibilities include embedding an agile culture through various agile and SAFe methodologies, fostering an open and trust-based environment that emphasizes delivery and continuous improvement. The specialist will assess team and organizational culture, identifying areas for improvement in delivery processes. They will recommend tools and techniques to support agile processes and oversee the training of agile methodologies through formal courses, workshops, and seminars. Additionally, the specialist will interface with DHS engineers and architects to ensure adherence to architecture standards and guidelines, define best practices for development teams, and present Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for continuous improvement. The role requires extensive knowledge and experience in navigating enterprise IT environments, proficiency in Agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Testing. The candidate must have a high proficiency in the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence) and possess excellent leadership, analytical, and critical thinking skills. A SAFe 5.1 SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) Certification is also required, along with extensive experience in version control, containers, Dockers, Jenkins/GitLab, Kubernetes, and Ansible. Candidates must hold a MA/MS degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience or a BS/BA degree with a minimum of 20 years of total experience. US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Embed an agile culture using techniques from a wide range of agile and SAFe methodologies and frameworks.
  • Create an open and trust-based environment that enables a focus on delivery and facilitates continuous improvement.
  • Assess team/organizational culture and delivery processes to identify and facilitate improvements.
  • Identify and recommend tools and techniques to support agile processes.
  • Oversee training of agile methodologies/tools by conducting formal classroom courses, workshops, and seminars.
  • Assess environment framework and ensure implemented use cases adhere to that framework.
  • Interface with DHS engineers/architects regarding architecture standards/guidelines/policies based on needs and anticipated technology advances.
  • Define and set best standards and practices that development teams can utilize.
  • Define, measure, and present Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver proven training programs to explain and instill DevOps values including those detailed by Agile and Lean.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge and experience navigating enterprise IT environments.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing.
