About the position

The Agile Project Manager will oversee the delivery of commitments across multiple Agile Squads, ensuring that projects are completed within the defined timeline and budget. This role involves managing financials, risks, and dependencies while facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching teams on Agile best practices. The position requires a blend of traditional project management and Agile methodologies, particularly during the Agile transformation journey.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct team meetings and coach the team on Agile mindset.
  • Serve as guardian of the SAFe Agile process.
  • Drive improvement efforts and minimize disruptions.
  • Coach the team on Agile Best Practices.
  • Partner with finance and project teams to align financial cadences with portfolio financials.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning and document objectives and milestones.
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies including Daily Scrum, Sprint planning, Sprint Demo/Review, and retrospectives.
  • Assist the Product Owner in maintaining a healthy product backlog.
  • Address impediments and escalate as needed.
  • Monitor team progress, velocity, and capacity to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Maintain team progress and boards in project management tools.
  • Keep the RTE/Program Manager informed of milestones and deliverables.
  • Conduct backlog refinement and iteration planning.
  • Report progress, risk mitigation, and updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist in balancing interdependencies between projects.
  • Coach the team on Agile best practices and facilitate continuous improvement through retrospectives.
  • Build out a sprint calendar and manage overall project timelines.
  • Review project team allocations and manage project financials.
  • Create and publish weekly project status reports and host Steering Committee meetings.
  • Manage multiple related Scrum teams/Squads.
  • Ensure end-to-end execution of projects on time, on budget, and within scope.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Maintain project governance and status reporting to stakeholders.
  • Accountable for maintaining the RAAIDD log and escalating risks as necessary.
  • Collaborate with resource managers for project resource planning.
  • Manage changes in project scope and adhere to change control policies.
  • Collaborate with other project managers to manage dependencies and minimize delivery impact.
  • Ensure adherence to release management practices and receive Go-No-Go Signoff.
  • Issue communications regarding project changes and closeout activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience with Agile techniques and tools, particularly Jira.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively with teams.
  • Strong credibility with senior executives and team members.
  • Financial acumen and ability to interpret key financial indicators.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Postgraduate degree or advanced training in relevant fields.
  • SAFe/Agile certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading teams or advancing technical capabilities.
  • Experience in transforming waterfall to Agile methodologies.
  • Retail experience.
