About the position

The Agile Project Manager will oversee the delivery of commitments across multiple Agile Squads, ensuring adherence to Agile methodologies while managing project scope, timeline, and budget. This role involves financial management, risk management, and dependency management, as well as coaching teams through Agile transformation. The position supports a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-person attendance at core locations three days a week and remote work for two days.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct team meetings and coach the team on Agile mindset.
  • Serve as guardian of the SAFe Agile process.
  • Drive improvement efforts and minimize outside disruptions.
  • Partner with finance and project teams to align financial cadences with portfolio financials.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning and document objectives and milestones.
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies including Daily Scrum, Sprint planning, Sprint Demo/Review, and retrospectives.
  • Help maintain a healthy product backlog and prioritize it continuously.
  • Address impediments and escalate as needed.
  • Monitor team progress, velocity, and capacity to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Maintain team progress and boards in project management tools.
  • Report progress, risk mitigation, and updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist in balancing interdependencies and managing scrum of scrums.
  • Build out a sprint calendar and manage overall project delivery timeline.
  • Review project team allocations and manage project financials.
  • Create and publish weekly project status reports and host Steering Committee meetings.
  • Manage multiple related Scrum teams/Squads and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of projects.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Accountable for project governance and status reporting to stakeholders.
  • Maintain the RAAIDD log and escalate risks and issues as necessary.
  • Coach and mentor project teams on processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with project accountants for financial management.
  • Manage changes in project scope and adhere to change control policies.
  • Collaborate with solution teams for release management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience with Agile techniques and tools, particularly Jira.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively with teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of key financial indicators.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Postgraduate degree or advanced training in relevant fields.
  • SAFe/Agile certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading teams or advancing technical capabilities.
  • Experience in transforming Waterfall to Agile methodologies.
  • Retail experience is a plus.
