About the position

The Agile Project Manager at Merck will play a crucial role in transforming the Manufacturing IT operating model by incorporating Agile methodologies to enhance project execution and deliver value to customers more efficiently. This position focuses on continuous improvement projects, which may involve process enhancements or the delivery of digital products, while providing insights into various manufacturing processes across supply chain, operations, laboratory testing, logistics, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the team in project planning and execution using Agile tools and methods in alignment with divisional standards.
• Managing the financials for projects, including processing funding requests and approvals, maintaining project forecasts, and resource management.
• Planning and coordinating team workshops, both virtual and in-person, with a willingness to travel (20%).
• Acting as the single point of contact for value management.
• Serving as a champion and change agent for the adoption of Agile tools and methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or a related field.
• 2 years or more of applied experience using Agile methodologies with working knowledge of Jira/Confluence.
• 2+ years or more of applied experience in portfolio/project financial management.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written communication.
• Demonstrated ability in running workshops and keeping the team on topic.
• Prior experience collaborating and communicating with various audiences and stakeholders, including executive management, business leaders, IT peers, and colleagues in a global setting.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Scrum Master Certification.
• Work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of software development principles and lifecycle (SDLC).
