About the position

The Agile Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects within an Agile framework, ensuring effective communication among stakeholders and the development team. This role involves defining project scope, managing backlogs, facilitating sprint planning, and maintaining project documentation. The position requires collaboration with various IT sections to support Agile transformation and continuous improvement of project processes.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals, and objectives.
• Identify stakeholders and establish communication channels.
• Create a high-level project schedule and backlog.
• Use and improve upon the current IT Intake process and PMO Playbook.
• Use Azure DevOps to track information daily.
• Assist with the Agile transformation including working agreements and training.
• Prioritize and groom backlog.
• Break down user stories into actionable tasks with teams.
• Estimate items using story points with teams.
• Plan sprint goals and select backlog items for upcoming sprints.
• Define acceptance criteria for user stories.
• Estimate the capacity of development teams for the sprint.
• Conduct daily standup meetings to review progress and identify blockers.
• Document project issues and escalate to Government project leadership.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and development team to ensure no blockers exist.
• Demo completed user stories to stakeholders and hold retrospective meetings.
• Document all changes within existing systems including releases.
• Implement and maintain portfolio reporting tools like OnePlan.
• Develop and maintain portfolio-level and project-level reporting.
• Update and maintain project management data using Azure DevOps.
• Define, develop, and provide monthly PMO Support Data and Metrics.
• Maintain a staffing plan of resource assignments for all projects.
• Create executive summaries and dashboard reports.
• Provide IT Advisory Council meeting support for projects.
• Utilize and improve existing Risk Management escalation process.
• Monitor and address risks throughout the project life cycle.
• Seek out ways to improve processes and own skillset.
• Follow and improve on existing Project Closure process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3-5 years experience in managing development projects in an Agile environment.
• Proven ability to lead and manage projects with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Experience with MS Office Suite and portfolio/project management tools such as Azure DevOps.
