About the position

NexGen Data Systems is seeking an Agile Project Manager to lead and support a large datacenter team in project management functions. The role requires a motivated and detail-oriented individual who can operate with urgency and apply various project management methodologies to ensure successful project execution. The Agile Project Manager will work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to define requirements, develop execution plans, and manage multiple projects effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop operational policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines based on best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Execute prioritization of work efforts across multiple projects, addressing impediments in a timely manner.
  • Independently manage different types of project management methodologies and teams as required.
  • Provide project management expertise to identify the appropriate methodology for assigned projects.
  • Work with technical teams and stakeholders to define requirements and develop execution plans based on industry standards.
  • Drive the success of assigned projects with a sense of urgency, ensuring technical teams operate similarly.
  • Develop detailed MS project schedules based on the methodology used for projects.
  • Participate in risk management, evaluating risk levels and implications, including risk identification and escalation.
  • Identify and resolve barriers to progress and project goals, working effectively with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Participate in configuration management practices and procedures, ensuring execution of required practices for all projects.
  • Execute and coach Agile Scrum ceremonies and practices for multiple projects, managing scrum artifacts.
  • Develop and manage detailed backlogs for each scrum team, working with product owners to ensure accurate work capture.
  • Identify resources and skill sets needed for project completion and communicate needs to leadership.
  • Deliver and report key milestones for each scrum team, understanding reporting requirements based on industry standards.
  • Proactively configure project management tools to provide required reporting metrics and develop professional status reports for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate daily standups for each assigned scrum team using appropriate tools to conduct the meetings.
  • Support and execute all phases of the project lifecycle, coordinating and tracking project activities across team members.

Requirements

  • Six years of direct experience with IT design management required.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or IT realm and/or a PMP certification.
  • Secret clearance or higher preferred.
  • Basic MS Project knowledge is required; expert knowledge is a plus.
  • Two or more years of experience using Atlassian Tool suite (JIRA/Confluence); expert knowledge is a plus.
  • One or more of the following certifications: PMP, PMI-RMP, Certified Scrum Master certification.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-functional team environment.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, including leadership and technical levels.
  • Ability to collaborate with awareness and responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Commitment to continuous development and improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to resolve conflict at the lowest level and gauge roles and responsibilities of key players.
