About the position

The Agile Scrum Master - AVP role at Citi involves leading and coaching Agile teams to enhance their execution methodologies and ensure adherence to Agile principles. The Scrum Master will facilitate Agile ceremonies, advocate for continuous improvement, and foster a collaborative team culture. This position is crucial for delivering complex technology and business solutions while optimizing team performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own, advocate, and coach Agile (scrum) processes, ensuring adherence to the framework and continuous improvement.
• Serve as Scrum Master for up to two Agile teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies and focusing teams on delivering value quickly.
• Take action based on retrospectives and sprint team metrics to improve execution approaches and team velocity.
• Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, Sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Scrum-related meetings.
• Track and communicate sprint/release progress via information radiators, ensuring they are current and broadly available.
• Play a key leadership role in delivering complex technology and business solutions, championing the Scrum way-of-life across development teams.
• Encourage and support iterative and collaborative development, favoring people over process.
• Escalate and/or resolve impediments to help the team ship code, leveraging data to measure and monitor progress against commitments.
• Coach teams on the basics of Scrum or Kanban in simple terms as needed.
• Adopt standard practices for Scrum Management and Sprint planning, guiding the Scrum Team on Agile/Scrum practices to meet program objectives.
• Creatively apply Scrum management/Sprint Planning processes to address unique situations and ensure program success.
• Cultivate an environment of trust, team growth, creativity, and empower the team to self-organize.
• Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution, taking ownership with the Product Owner to maximize project objectives.
• Protect the team from outside interference, removing impediments, and ensuring work is delivered as a team.
• Ensure adherence to Citi Agile SDLC processes and procedures, acting as an advisor to those new to Agile methodology.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of total experience with 3-5 years as a Scrum Master.
• In-depth knowledge of Scrum and implementation of Agile methodologies in large-scale enterprise projects.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Retail Credit Risk or the Financial Industry preferred.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum practices, Confluence, Jira, and collaboration tools.
• Strong knowledge of Scrum Management, Sprint, and Release planning.
• Experience running Agile at scale as a SAFe RTE or Scrum of Scrum manager.
• Experience on multiple Scrum teams in various contexts.
