About the position

The Agile Scrum Master/Kanban FlowMaster plays a crucial role in coaching and advising teams and leadership on the implementation of Scrum processes, procedures, values, and interactions. This position is focused on continuous improvement and aims to enable teams to become self-organizing, cross-functional, and accountable. The Scrum Master will assist teams in achieving their Sprint plans by facilitating Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe events, while also removing impediments and resolving issues that are outside the team's control. The individual in this role will lead the planning and execution of development and delivery efforts for one or more products, ensuring that they meet high standards of quality and effectiveness. In addition to coaching, the Scrum Master will be responsible for managing and assisting with requirements gathering, design, development, and implementation of web-based software applications on n-tier infrastructure. This includes interfacing with various internal and external applications across different platforms. The role requires a strong understanding of Agile principles, particularly Scrum and Kanban, to effectively resolve backlog items by collaborating closely with Product Owners and project teams. The Scrum Master will ensure that deliverables align with requirements and are delivered with quality, while also playing a key role in resolving business and team conflicts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in estimating work effort, refining prioritized backlogs, and facilitating Scrum ceremonies or Kanban events. They will also be expected to execute Agile transformation strategies as laid out by the Agile Transformation Coach and transformation team, fostering a healthy Agile team culture that drives customer and business value. This position requires strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in strong organization and analytical thinking skills with the ability to turn complex business needs into user scenarios, flows, and diagrams.
  • 5 years of experience in understanding and implementing Agile values, principles, and practices (i.e., Kanban, Scrum) based on team maturity.
  • 7 years of hands-on experience with tools like MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • 7 years of experience working with stakeholders for backlog item prioritization, grooming, and understanding of epic/stories/tasks.
  • 7 years of experience with JIRA to create/enhance dashboards, monitor progress of sprint/work flow, and provide statuses in a timely manner.
  • 7 years of demonstrated experience working on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously without impacting quality of work.
  • 7 years of experience with work breakdown and estimation, sprint planning, monitoring progress, and removing impediments to deliver solutions for business needs.
  • 5 years of strong experience using facilitation and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • 7 years of strong experience using risk and business impact analysis and reporting skills.
  • 4 years of experience in gaining buy-in and support from stakeholders.
  • 4 years of experience managing, maintaining, and analyzing data to derive meaningful and actionable insights about the portfolio.
  • 4 years of demonstrated experience using effective leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • 4 years of demonstrated experience working with planning just enough, just in time to start moving forward.
  • Certified Scrum Master or Kanban certification (highly desired).
  • Certified SPC or SAFe agilist in SAFe transformation (desired).
  • 2 years of experience with setup, tracking, monitoring flow, and reporting in Jira (required).
  • 2 years of experience with JIRA Align and Portfolio Planning (desired).
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in software development and debugging using programming languages like Java or .Net/C# (required).
  • 5 years of hands-on SQL experience in relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server, etc. (required).

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified SPC or SAFe agilist in SAFe transformation
