About the position

The Agile Scrum Master/Kanban FlowMaster plays a pivotal role in coaching and advising teams and leadership on the implementation of Scrum processes, procedures, values, and interactions. This position is focused on continuous improvement, enabling teams to become self-organizing, cross-functional, and accountable. The Scrum Master will facilitate Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe events, remove impediments, and resolve issues that are outside the team's control. The individual will lead the planning and execution of development and delivery efforts for one or more products, ensuring high standards are met. The role requires a coachable individual who can effectively collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, and Stakeholders. The Scrum Master must execute and adhere to the Agile transformation strategies set forth by the Agile Transformation Coach and transformation team. This involves fostering an understanding of Agile principles and behaviors that drive customer and business value while cultivating a healthy Agile team culture. In addition to coaching, the Scrum Master will manage and assist with requirements gathering, design, development, and implementation of the Cram/Java web-based software application on n-tier infrastructure. This includes interfacing with various internal and external applications across multiple platforms. The position will utilize Agile principles to resolve backlog items by closely working with Product Owners and project teams, ensuring that deliverables meet requirements, are effective solutions, and are delivered with quality. The Scrum Master will also play a crucial role in resolving business and team conflicts, actively engaging in technical discussions, identifying gaps, and ensuring Product Owner involvement in business decisions and flow descriptions. A high level of expertise in estimating work effort, refining prioritized backlogs, and facilitating Scrum ceremonies or Kanban events is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and advise teams and leadership on Scrum processes, procedures, values, and interactions.
  • Facilitate Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe events to enable team self-organization and accountability.
  • Lead the planning and execution of development and delivery efforts for one or more products.
  • Assist with requirements gathering, design, development, and implementation of web-based software applications.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and project teams to resolve backlog items and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Resolve business and team conflicts and engage in technical discussions to find gaps.
  • Collaborate to refine prioritized backlogs and facilitate Scrum ceremonies or Kanban events.
  • Utilize Agile principles to monitor progress and remove impediments to deliver solutions for business needs.
  • Manage, maintain, and analyze data to derive actionable insights about the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Strong organization and analytical thinking skills with experience in user scenarios, flows, and diagrams.
  • Experience implementing Agile values, principles, and practices (Kanban, Scrum) based on team maturity.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience working with stakeholders for backlog item prioritization and grooming.
  • Proficient in JIRA for creating dashboards, monitoring progress, and providing timely statuses.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Experience in work breakdown and estimation, sprint planning, and monitoring progress.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in risk and business impact analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to gain buy-in and support from stakeholders.
  • Experience in data management and analysis for actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in planning just enough, just in time to move forward.
  • Hands-on experience in software development and debugging using Java or .Net/C#.
  • Hands-on SQL experience with relational databases like Oracle or SQL Server.
