The Agile Scrum Master / Kanban FlowMaster position at BCforward in Durham, NC, is designed for a highly motivated individual who possesses strong organizational and analytical thinking skills. The role requires the ability to transform complex business needs into user scenarios, flows, and diagrams, ensuring that the team can effectively implement Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban based on their maturity level. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to utilizing various tools, including MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint, to facilitate project management and communication. In this role, the Scrum Master will work closely with stakeholders to prioritize backlog items, groom them, and ensure a clear understanding of epics, stories, and tasks. Proficiency in JIRA is essential, as the Scrum Master will be responsible for creating and enhancing dashboards, monitoring the progress of sprints and workflows, and providing timely status updates. The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously without compromising the quality of work is crucial. The Scrum Master will also be tasked with work breakdown and estimation, sprint planning, and monitoring progress while removing impediments to deliver solutions that meet business needs. Strong facilitation and communication skills are necessary to engage both technical and non-technical audiences effectively. Additionally, the role requires experience in risk and business impact analysis, as well as the ability to gain buy-in and support from stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on planning just enough and just in time to initiate progress. Certification as a Scrum Master or Kanban certification is required, along with knowledge of DevOps practices. Experience with JIRA Align and Portfolio Planning, as well as hands-on experience in software development and debugging using programming languages like Java or .Net/C#, is highly desirable. Familiarity with SQL in relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server is also beneficial.

Responsibilities
