About the position

The Scrum Master position at Byrne Software Technologies is a contract role focused on leading an application development team. The ideal candidate will be someone who can quickly integrate into the existing team and gain the trust and buy-in from both team members and leadership. This role is crucial for ensuring that the Scrum Team can deliver high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done and adhere to quality standards at the end of each sprint. The Scrum Master will coach and develop the team to achieve high performance, emphasizing self-organization and cross-functional skillsets. In this role, the Scrum Master will collaborate with various Scrum teams and both internal and external stakeholders to influence decision-making and support organizational project or product teams. A key responsibility will be to resolve conflicts and remove impediments that may hinder the development teams, while also addressing cross-team dependencies to mitigate product delivery risks. The Scrum Master will support all Scrum events, ensuring they are productive, positive, and time-boxed appropriately. Additionally, the Scrum Master will assist Product Owners in articulating a clear and compelling Product Vision/Goal and maintaining a well-defined Product Backlog. Creating a productive environment where team members are engaged and invested in the product is essential, as is measuring and reporting on the effectiveness and productivity of the Scrum team through relevant performance metrics. The Scrum Master will also contribute to the advancement of Agile practices within the company, guiding development teams towards higher Scrum maturity and helping stakeholders understand and implement an empirical approach to complex work.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop team(s) to a high-performing level in self-organization and cross-functional skillsets.
• Help the Scrum Team deliver high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done and quality standards at the conclusion of each sprint.
• Collaborate with Scrum teams and stakeholders to influence decision-making and support project or product teams.
• Resolve conflicts and remove impediments impacting the development team(s).
• Address cross-team dependencies to ensure product delivery risks are mitigated.
• Support all Scrum events, ensuring they are positive, productive, and time-boxed appropriately.
• Assist Product Owners in providing a clear and compelling Product Vision/Goal and maintaining the Product Backlog.
• Cultivate a productive environment where team members are invested in the product.
• Measure, track, and report on the effectiveness and productivity of the Scrum team through performance metrics.
• Contribute to the improvement of Agile practices within the company.

Requirements

• 4+ years of product or project development experience on an Agile Team.
• Professional hands-on Scrum Master experience.
• Proven success in facilitating meetings at various levels of a company.
• Strong communication, collaboration, negotiation, and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of Agile frameworks (i.e., Scrum, Kanban) and understanding of SDLC models.
• Hands-on coaching and support for Scrum theory, values, roles, events, and artifacts.
• Experience in planning and problem-solving with product management and delivery teams.
• E-commerce, food distribution, or transportation experience is helpful.
• Experience with Optimizely Digital Experience Platform or other enterprise B2B e-commerce and CMS platforms is helpful.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence is helpful.
• Bachelor's degree.
