About the position

Genesis10 is seeking an Agile Scrum Master for a 12+ month contract position in the financial industry. The role involves planning, coordinating, and managing the delivery of projects while ensuring adherence to Agile principles. The Scrum Master will facilitate communication across teams, manage risks, and promote continuous improvement within the Scrum teams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and end-to-end management and delivery of defined deliverables.
  • Communicate work objectives, coordinate delivery, manage risks, and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Ensure execution and delivery meet client expectations in terms of functionality, quality, timeline, and cost.
  • Guide teams in Agile frameworks (Scrum) and ensure adherence to Agile principles.
  • Coordinate and facilitate routines to support delivery, including Agile ceremonies and stakeholder meetings.
  • Plan and coordinate delivery and dependencies across multiple teams.
  • Facilitate dependency management, risk management, and impediment removal for the Scrum team.
  • Promote communication and collaboration across organizations and Scrum teams.
  • Remove impediments to the team's progress and shield the Scrum team from distractions.
  • Foster continuous improvement by encouraging teams to adapt based on feedback from retrospectives.
  • Manage project financials and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Gather and facilitate status updates for stakeholders and leadership regarding delivery, risks/issues, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure the product backlog is clear and prioritized.
  • Coach the team in Agile practices to encourage self-organization and team ownership of deliverables.
  • Ensure deliverables comply with Enterprise Change Management standards.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience with a strong mix of technology delivery and business understanding.
  • Experience in Agile environments and understanding of Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
  • Ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion in both traditional and Agile settings.
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to interact productively with team members across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Able to present project health and status clearly and concisely.
  • Able to engage with senior/executive-level management as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint), Jira, and SharePoint.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to learn new tools and understand the business and existing systems.
  • Good time management skills and ability to prioritize effectively.

  • Prior experience in Technology Project Manager/Technology Delivery Lead roles.
