About the position

The Agile Scrum Master/Product Owner role is dedicated to Equity Capital Markets Technology initiatives, focusing on maximizing value for Capital Markets Technology. This position involves defining the vision and roadmap for deal origination, pipeline, and execution technology, while collaborating closely with senior business partners and the Technology Development Team in a scaled Agile model.

Responsibilities

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of Debt or Equity Capital Markets applications and their integration into the overall deal workflow.
  • Create the vision and roadmap for the product to align with the strategic direction for the business or technology domain.
  • Communicate the product vision and roadmap to C-Suite stakeholders and business teams, driving user adoption.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and align on priorities.
  • Create and prioritize features/epics in the program backlog, making decisions about trade-offs with emerging work versus planned work.
  • Create and prioritize work for 1-3 teams, experienced with cross-functional teams.
  • Create and prioritize stories in the product backlog.
  • Refine stories with the team to ensure there are enough 'ready' stories for the next 1-2 sprints.
  • Review and accept stories, making on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements.
  • Work in partnership with the team to ensure optimum value is obtained through technology and a deep understanding of the business.
  • Provide application training and demonstrations.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in information technology or computer science from an accredited 4-year university.
  • MBA or MS degree preferable.
  • Approximately 8-10 years of BA experience in Capital Markets Deal Origination and Deal Pipeline, Equity Capital Markets/New Issue/Primary Markets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking ability; ability to troubleshoot production issues quickly.
  • Experience working directly with the front office, ideally in a trading floor environment.
  • Experience with capital markets and the Deal Origination, Deal Pipeline, syndication process is a must.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize effectively across multiple projects.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey points quickly and concisely.
  • Agile skills to write quality User Stories, prioritize the backlog/work items, define acceptance criteria, and align business stakeholders on priorities.
  • Experience working as part of a global team is a plus.

  • Front end development with Angular, Javascript, JSP, HTML/DHTML, Ajax.
  • Experience with BI Tools; MS Office, Visio, MS Project, SharePoint, One Drive, MS Teams.
  • An individual of high integrity, energy, and optimism who is self-directed and motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; articulate and a good presenter of ideas.
