About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Agile Scrum Master with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX. This is a 12 month + contract position. The Agile Scrum Master will be responsible for using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, estimate, manage, and deliver solutions. The role requires championing and embodying the Agile way-of-life across the development teams, encouraging and supporting iterative and collaborative development. The Scrum Master will train, mentor, and support scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices, while determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items. In this position, the Scrum Master will schedule and facilitate scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes, monitor progress and performance, and help teams to make improvements. They will also be responsible for planning and organizing demos and product/system testing, ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes, and removing impediments for the scrum team. Tracking project processes, deliverables, and releases, as well as preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders, are also key responsibilities of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, estimate, manage, and deliver solutions

  • Encourage and support iterative and collaborative development
  • Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices
  • Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items
  • Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes
  • Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements
  • Planning and organizing demos and product/system testing
  • Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team

Requirements

  • 10+ years PMP
  • 10+ years Certified Scrum Master (minimum), SAFe preferred
  • Strong familiarity to core Agile Values and modern software engineering techniques
  • 15+ years of experience as a TPM or in a similar role
  • 10+ years as a certified scrum master
  • Expertise in Lean, Kanban, Scrum and other similar Frameworks
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Excellent people and project management skills
  • Ability to shape strong presentations and narratives that influence people to change
  • Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience with leading and implanting CI/CD concepts
  • Able to manage large scale deployment for enterprise (internal and external cloud)
  • Java/J2EE
  • Python/Ansible
  • Monitoring software like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.
  • Agile development
  • Technical agility
