About the position

The Agile Team Lead at Raytheon is responsible for managing a software development team with minimal oversight, acting as a servant leader and agile coach. This role involves collaborating with systems engineering and customer personnel to define and plan tasks, manage staffing, and report progress. The position requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate ambiguous and rapidly changing customer needs while contributing to classified programs and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage software development team with minimal oversight by customer or contractor personnel
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering on concept development for future execution
  • Collaborate with customer technical and programmatic personnel to define and plan tasking, manage staffing, and report progress
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well
  • Use proven problem solving and analytical skills.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • At least 8 years of Software Engineering and/or Systems Engineering experience
  • Experience collaborating with contractor and customer subject matter experts and systems engineers to plan and execute work
  • Experience organizing and executing activities that may be a mix of hard requirements or incomplete concepts
  • Experience working in an environment with ambiguous and rapidly changing customer needs and interests
  • Experience using Atlassian, Jira, or Confluence software
  • Agile execution experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry Agile certification such as Release Train Engineer (RTE), Scrum Master (CSM), or Product Owner (CPO)
  • Customer domain experience to include understanding of the work context, history, and emerging future
  • Experience collaborating with related programs to define and support multi-program experiments
  • Experience successfully managing agile costs and schedule baselines using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques
  • Experience reporting program status, metrics, risks, opportunities, and staffing needs to Engineering and business leadership.
